I have decided to take upon this challenge, racing with type 1. I have NO idea what to expect in 10 days, or if I'll able to line up, but I can guarantee you something, I set my heart and head on it. I am focused and determine to wake up Sunday morning three hours before race starts, check my level, have a good breakfast, check again and again to make sure I am where I need to be. 15 minutes before the race will determine If my body is going to say yes or not today.
My goal is to have my level on at least 140, anything lower than that puts me in a hypoglycemia risk during the race(which I do not want to experience). That means I have to play with my insuline the night before, I mean... it will be my first time racing with diabetes and i don't know what will happen, but on the other hand, I am pretty excited. I know my boyfriend and my dad will be right there at the finish line whether I cross it first or last!I know this race will be different than others, I am usually not a sit in girl but I think Sunday will be the day i give that a try. I have to listen to my body(for the first time ever). My realistic goal is to make the 50 minutes, I am not really expecting any podium results BUTTTT that does not mean I wont work for it, my goal is to finish, to finish healthy and to be able to prove to myself that I got this, that everything is going to be just fine.
